In the Glass: Dark crimson with purplish hues
On the Nose: Sweet cherry and prunes with a hint of vanilla. After decanting one hour, the nose offers a hint of floral notes and black fruit.
On the Palate: Black cherries and plums with a touch of smoke and oakiness at the back of the tongue. Very soft mouth feel with understated tannins, but still tastes a bit hot because of its youthfulness. This wine might be a bit better when it spends a little more time in the bottle, but is meant to be drunk in the next year or so. Becomes quite a bit more open after an hour or so of opening the bottle.
Style: Smooth and light.

Comments: There is a reason Limdeman's and Yellow Tail have become some of the best selling Australian "jug" wines in the U.S.A. They are consistently good affordable wines, welll crafted and very popular among novice wine drinkers. Like Beaujolais, these wines are simple and meant to be consumed at a young age. That does not mean that they are in any way inferior to more complex (and more expensive) wines. This Shiraz varietal is a perfect accompaniment to a weekend barbecue of burgers, dogs and or steaks with friends and even a large party will not break the bank. You will be amazed how popular the taste of this wine is across the board of most inexperienced wine drinkers, as well as some more sophisticated types! This wine , in particular, is a bit more oaky than most of its competitors and will appeal to those that like a bit of oak mixed in with the fruit.
